Über uns
Food at our events is vegan but anyone interested in lowering their carbon footprint by eating more plant based meals, even if never planning to go fully vegan, is welcome. For safety reasons, we require members to use **a real first name and face photo** on their profile.
Meatless Meetup is run by a group of volunteer hosts who believe it to be of critical environmental importance that we drastically reduce our meat and dairy consumption. We recommend Earthsave Canada (https://www.earthsave.ca/) for information about the plant based diet.
There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with us, from collecting cash at restaurants to helping out at potlucks. If you want to meet more people at events, get in touch.
N.B. As last minute cancellations and no shows keep wait-listers out, harm our relationship with restaurants, and can even result in our volunteer hosts having to pay for others' meals, we require you to pay for your meal via e-transfer for set menu events if you no show or cancel without adequate notice. Repeated no shows will result in removal from the group.
Meatless Meetup aims to be a transparent, safe space for all. If you experience any form of harassment, please contact a host immediately.

Healthy Noodle Soup Dinner
Healthy Noodle House, 2716 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, CAJoin 11 other diners for a healthy vegan noodle soup dinner. Each diner will chose their own vegetables, protein, and noodles, and pay separately. Your soup will cost between $15 and $20 depending on what you choose to have.
Special for this event, owner Colin will send each diner home with a litre of his famous soup broth ($4 value) so you can make your own soup at home. Colin's soup broth is low sodium, very flavourful, and made in house.

Surrey Vaisakhi Celebration w/ FREE Veggie food
Strawberry Hill Elementary School, 7633 124th Street, Surrey, BC, CAJoin Brian in Surrey for the largest BC Vaisakhi celebration, marking the new year. Check out the details here: https://www.surreyvaisakhiparade.com
Vaisakhi is a huge annual Sikh celebration and parade. To celebrate, business and families set up tables on the street and offer free veggie food to strangers. The love and graciousness with which the food is often offered is something to experience. All food is vegetarian but not always vegan, so ask first.
The streets are packed with people and there is lots to see--music performances, dancing, the parade and people watching are the main highlights.
We'll meet at Strawberry Hill Elementary School, behind the flagpole (see picture below) at 1pm and start walking the route at 1:15. Since the parade and floats head counter-clockwise on the map (https://www.surreyvaisakhiparade.com/parade-map/), we'll go the opposite way to be able to see them, which is North on 124 St, East on 82 Ave until 128 St.
Public transit: From Scott Road Skytrain Station, take bus 319 or R6. Get off at 76A or 75A Ave and walk Eastbound to Strawberry Hill Elementary School on 124 St.
For transit information, call TransLink at 604-953-3333 or go to https://www.translink.ca for details.Parking: Mostly street parking along 122 St near 76A Ave by Westerman Elementary School, which is behind Strawberry Hill Elementary School. There will be road blockages around the perimeter of the route.
Washrooms: There is one in the temple at 12885 85 Ave, and portables along the route.
Post in messages if you have a car and can offer a ride from somewhere.

Snackluck, Talk, and Discussion
Vancouver Cohousing, 1733 East 33rd Ave., Vancouver, BC, CADr. Matthew Nagra will be joining us. Stay tuned for more details.
You must be registered to attend. The event will be held at Vancouver Co-housing, an intentional co-housing community. As usual, we request a $2 donation for Vancouver Cohousing. Also please bring a vegan snack but be sure it includes NO NUTS. (We have at least one person with an anaphylactic reaction to nuts, and one to peanuts.)
What's a snackluck? It's a low-stress potluck where each person brings a snack to share. Could be cookies, fresh fruit, veggies and dip, whatever you want. Just please make sure your snack contains no animal products--that means no meat, dairy, whey, gelatin, eggs, and seafood--so that everyone can partake.
Take note: While we're big fans of the plant-based diet, everyone who has registered is welcome, from omnivore to vegan (no pets please).
Sorry there is construction next door so you may need to park around the corner.**************
