Street Music and Busking - Getting Started and Getting Successful

FREE ENTRANCE - FREE PIZZA
Music in the U-Bahn, music at Alexanderplatz, music at Mauerpark... buskers are everywhere! But how do you get started, and how do you actually make money? And is it even legal??
A very hot topic in Berlin right now, street music and street musicians are a big part of Berlin's exciting culture. Regulations on street music are vague in Berlin at best, but the payoff of successful busking can be huge; for some buskers, it becomes a part-time job that pays all the bills.
Our featured guests at this meetup are Berlin Street Music (http://www.berlinstreetmusic.com/), a group of buskers who have created a close-knit network that works to improve busking conditions, push for better city regulations in Berlin, and support buskers in the city. Geraint John Jones (https://www.geraintjohnjones.com/) (singer-songwriter and street musician) gives us an introduction on what they do, what they are trying to do, and some basic ways to start busking successfully. Since many street musicians have different methods and philosophies, we have also invited singer-songwriters/buskers Alice Hills (https://www.facebook.com/alicehillsberlin/) and Julia Pigali (https://www.facebook.com/juliapigali/) to share some of their personal experiences and wisdom on busking in a panel discussion.
Our schedule is as follows:
19:00 - free pizza, networking time (be sure to come on time as the pizza is usually gone in 20 minutes or less!)
20:00 - "newcomer" pitch by Book a Street Artist ( https://www.bookastreetartist.com/ )
20:15 - Keynote speaker (Geraint John Jones/Berlin Street Music) followed by panel discussion (Alice Hills, Julia Pigali)
21:00 - short break
21:15 - free prize drawing
21:30 - end of event (but you can stay and chat till Noize Fabrik decides it is time to close up!)
