Über uns
N+C is a meetup series in Frankfurt building a community around people interested in the creative and critical application of technologies. The meetup seeks to bring together local artists, designers, creative coders, hackers or members of the communities around VVVV, Processing, Webtechnologies, AI and related frameworks. Each meetup will invite someone to share their practice and provide insights “behind the front end” of their projects – and will provide drinks, a soup and plenty of space for getting to know each other.
Since late 2011 we regularly invite artists, thinkers, hackers, ..., to present their views or works and to help us start new discussions and open new fields.

N+C 2023+ is a cooperation between NODE Forum for Digital Arts and University of Applied Sciences Mainz and happens with support of many local organizations. The first editions are funded in the program “Promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries Institutions” by the Hessian Ministry of Economy, Energy, Transport and Housing.

Alles ansehen- NODE+CODE Meetup #20 – You ok, Robot?Crespo Haus, Frankfurt am Main
For NODE+CODE #20, we explore artistic practices that engage with robotics not merely as mechanical tools, but as living entities situated within a broader ecological and material context. This evening invites you to consider how programmed behavior, natural processes, and human perception intersect.
We’ll have two presentations from three contributors this time around:
Offenbach based artists Caroline Liebl and Nikolas Schmid-Pfähler create sculptures and installations that explore the aesthetic, social and ecological effects of technological developments, using elements of robotics and scientific processes. In their works, material qualities of a visual and haptic nature are just as important as programmed processes, physical laws and chemical reactions.
From Linz, Austria, we’re expecting Amir Bastan whose work explores human consciousness, artificial intelligence, and robotics within media arts and interactivity frameworks. Currently a doctoral researcher at Creative Robotics and lecturer at Kunstuni Linz, Amir’s research focuses on “The Human Robot Transference,” which examines connections between psychoanalysis theories and human-robot interaction. Amir will run a workshop the following day, too. See details about his workshop here.
We’ll open the doors at 18:30, allowing us all to get comfortable and start at 19:00 with the presentations from our speakers.
Join us at the Crespo Haus for a drink, a soup and a chat with some humans and maybe some machines.📅 17.07.2025, 19:00

- NODE+CODE #20 Workshop You ok, Robot? – Introduction to Parallel InteractionNODE e.V. / NODE Forum for Digital Arts offices, Frankfurt am Main33,00 EUR
The workshop presents “Parallel Interaction”, a conceptual framework Amir Bastan has been developing as part of his PhD research. It proposes a reorientation of how we understand interactivity in contemporary artworks that engage with machines, robotics, AI, and generative systems.
Participants will be introduced to the concepts of Parallel Interaction, Quasi-Interaction, and Self-Interaction. Together, we will analyse a curated selection of contemporary artworks, and apply these conceptual tools to have a different understanding of human-machine relations and emergent behaviours in art and design contexts. The workshop is hosted by Amir Bastan whose work explores human consciousness, artificial intelligence, and robotics within media arts and interactivity frameworks. The previous day, Amir will also be speaking during NODE+CODE meetup #20!
