- Deeper Dive into React Native for iOS and Android
In this meetup, Jay Garcia and Stan Bershadskiy will present on React Native for iOS and Android. They will discuss key features of this new and exciting library and do deep dives on how all of the pieces fit together. Key demonstrations will be provided for applications that tailor to both platforms. Stan and Jay will answer the question in the industry's collective minds: "Did Facebook make all mobile HTML5 frameworks irrelevant?" We're moving to a new venue this time in the financial district area. The space is going to be a more intimate environment allowing you to ask more questions and really dive into the material. Because of the limited space, we have to cap the meetup attendee limit. We would really appreciate it if you only RSVP yes if you're certain you will attend. If do RSVP and something comes up that you can not attend please change your status ASAP.
- FREE Workshop: From API to App with Node.js and Ionic
REGISTER USING THE EVENTBRITE LINK BELOW! Learn to build APIs using Node.js and then build a hybrid mobile app using the Ionic framework (HTML/CSS/AngularJS/Apache Cordova) that consumes the APIs in this all-day, hands-on developer workshop, sponsored by Apigee. Whether you're a seasoned developer or not, this workshop will cover everything you need to know to start building APIs and hybrid mobile apps -- including a crash course in Node.js, and a crash course in AngularJS for those that need to get up to speed. And even though the workshop is focused on developing a hybrid app, everything learned in the workshop regarding API consumption can be applied to native (Obj-C, Java, C#), .Net, Ruby or traditional web development as well. This is NOT a sales or marketing workshop - in fact, everything we use is free and open source! The goal of the workshop is to give back to the community by providing attendees with a basis of knowledge to get started with API-driven app development, regardless of skill level. It all kicks off at 9am and runs until 5pm. Lunch and beers/wine (afterwards) are provided by Apigee. You can find all the details and register at: https://api-to-app-manhattan.eventbrite.com
