# PyData Heidelberg #5 (January)

Voilà: From Jupyter notebooks to standalone web applications and dashboards (by Jeremy Tuloup)

This event will be in English.

Space is limited, please do register for a free ticket.

We look forward to seeing you!

## Abstracts

Voilà is one of the latest additions to the Jupyter ecosystem, and can be used to turn Jupyter notebooks into standalone web applications and dashboards.

Built upon Jupyter standard protocols and file formats, Voilà works with any Jupyter kernel (C++, Python, Julia), making it a language-agnostic dashboarding system.

Voilà also supports Jupyter interactive widgets, including the roundtrips to the kernel.

During the presentation, we will introduce Voilà and its execution model, as well as typical use cases for dashboard authors.

We will present a few interactive examples from the Voilà Gallery, a curated collection of Voilà dashboards.

There will also be a demo of popular Voilà templates such as voila-vuetify, voila-reveal, voila-gridstack, and a look at what is coming up next.

---

During the workshop, we will:

  • Setup an environment for Voilà
  • Create our first Voilà dashboards
  • Deploy the Voilà dashboard to Binder with mybinder.org
  • Deploy to Heroku:
  • Using the heroku command line tool
  • Using the heroku extension for JupyterLab
