Here's an abstract of the talk:
After two years of developing in an agile multi-team (5 feature implementing teams and 4 „cross-cutting“ teams) project at the BMW Group the necessity of a transition to true feature teams arises. The project heads decided to do a reorganization of the project. Valtech could convince the BMW project management and the contractor, responsible for the realization, to hand over the process of reorganization to the teams.
We conducted a „Self-Designing Team Workshop", where project members formed their own teams.
Content of the report:
- Project history
- Motivation for reorganization
- Motivation for self-organization
- Self-designing team workshop
- Workshop reflection
