For our first installment of the AI & Cloud Innovation Meetup we want to reflect on several successful projects from the AI and Cloud space: what worked, what are the challenges and what should not be repeated, including real life customer stories.

Talk 1: Challenges and Pitfalls in AI Applications

From security cameras to art, TNG has been involved in various computer vision deep learning projects dealing with different constraints around training data, neural network architecture and deployment scenarios. In this talk, we will touch on the challenges and potential pitfalls for different applications, be it impersonating your coworkers with Live Deepfakes or running your ML-Product on an edge device.

About the speakers:

Thomas Endres, Jonas Mayer and Sven Rohr are some of the innovators behind the TNG Innovation Hacking Team. Most known for their contribution to the world of Deepfakes and known from TV appearances in "Leschs Kosmos" and Galileo as well as countless talks all over the globe the team continues to push the limits of current AI technology in imaging, speech and text applications.

Talk 2:

Event sourcing is an architectural pattern widely used at Mercateo/Unite. In event sourcing, entities are not persisted in terms of their current state, but instead as a series of events tracking all the changes.
In this talk, we give an introduction to the concepts of event sourcing and report on our specific experiences in implementing the pattern using the FactCast event store.

About the speakers:

Dietmar Birzer and Florian Schrack are Full Stack Web Developers and DevOps specialists working for TNG Technology Consulting GmbH. Carrying over the spirit of their days of academic merits they are actively spreading gained knowledge inside and outside their company combining research experience with a proven sense for community.
