On April 9, 2025, the Amnesty youth & university group Cologne and the human rights association TÜDAY invite to a discussion on a very current issue: Journalism in Turkey.
The discussion will feature Kurdish journalist Nedim Türfent and political activist Çiler Firtina. Nedim Türfent is known for his reporting on the oppression of the Kurdish population in Turkey. In prison, he experienced first-hand the consequences that journalism in Turkey can have. The conversation will focus on his time in prison aswell as on human rights in Turkey, in particular freedom of expression and journalistic conditions.
The event will be held in English.
