The longest running and largest community for Cloud Native (inclusive of all CNCF projects, from sandbox to graduation) professionals and enthusiasts in The Netherlands. We now talk about AI too (of course:))! Kubernetes plays a pivotal role in training and inference, so obviously we are very interested in the intersection of Cloud Native&AI.
We organize monthly gatherings where folks from all backgrounds (developers, CxOs, sales, engineers, cooks and more :)) are welcome to share their stories and connect over food, drinks and technical talks; we run regular workshops to introduce anyone that wants to learn to cloud native technologies, including observability, security and AI.

Title: Keeping it simple: lessons from running PostgreSQL on Kubernetes at a data-centric startup
Description:
When you start with a clean slate, it’s tempting to implement every “best practice” from day one. We did that and learned the hard way that overengineering can slow you down. This session explores how we built a resilient data platform on CloudNativePG inside a private Kubernetes cluster. Willem covers why Zalando’s operator didn’t fit, why Kafka and Debezium didn't work for us, and how the plugin ecosystem made Postgres our Swiss Army knife.Bio: Willem Pino. Founding engineer at Rootline. I helped to setup the backend applications, CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes clusters. Previously at Adyen (Amsterdam and San Francisco), where I was an on-call engineer, senior engineer and team lead. Responsible for shortening release times and moving from bare metal servers to a private cloud.
2nd Talk:
Title: Building a scalable ING Data Analytics Platform on Google Cloud
Description: Building a modern data platform at a large financial institution like ING comes with unique challenges, from security and compliance to scalability and speed of delivery.
We’ll take you behind the scenes of how we architected and deployed ING’s scalable Data Analytics Platform (DAP) on Google Cloud. You’ll see our end-to-end solution in action, from seamless data ingestion pipelines to a governed Core Data Layer, and learn how we built a self-service experience that accelerates project creation for numerous teams across ING.
We’ll also highlight the custom tools we built to meet the needs of a highly regulated industry, including advanced IAM risk controls, security features, and compliance automation. Finally, we’ll cover how our central monitoring and 24/7 support model keep the platform reliable for all tenants.
We’ll share key lessons on building a secure, robust data platform that empowers teams to unlock AI and analytics use cases at scale, powering ING’s major AI projects and turning data into real business value.Bio: Area Tech Lead for the Data Analytics Platform (VISTA) at ING, focusing on Data infra & AI Journeys on Google Cloud.
I'm a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for serverless app deployment and active in the open source with various projects, e.g: auto-cpufreq with over 6.8k+ stars and 108+ contributors on GitHub.
Fun fact: I launched my own free web hosting company when I was 18.
