Talk:
Guardians of the Stream: Kafka, Flink, and the Rise of GenAI

Abstract:
In a world where data flows faster than ever, real-time processing has become the backbone of innovation. Guardians of the Stream takes you on a thrilling journey into the evolving ecosystem of data, where Kafka and Flink serve as the ultimate heroes. These powerful technologies work in tandem to manage and process massive data streams, unlocking the full potential of modern applications. But a new force is rising—Generative AI (GenAI). Together, these technologies are set to redefine how businesses harness and transform data in real-time.

This talk will explore how Kafka and Flink can seamlessly integrate with GenAI to build intelligent systems capable of real-time learning, automation, and decision-making. Join us to discover the next frontier in data streaming and artificial intelligence, where the combination of Kafka, Flink, and GenAI takes center stage in shaping the future of industries.

💡 Speaker Two & Three:
AJ, Backend Engineer, apinity & Ramin Gharib, Software and Data Engineer, bakdata

Talk:
API Analytics Architecture, Design Challenges and IQv2 Deep Dive

Abstract:
Apinity ‘s API marketplace, apinity | Xplore, provides an innovative ecosystem for the global insurance industry, enabling providers to connect to new audiences and offer compliant services. Its white label solution lets companies build their own unique API ecosystem and extend their digital reach.

Behind the scenes, a microservices architecture leverages queues for asynchronous communication. Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams are the backbone for API event analytics to provide near real-time API statistics and API consumption for invoicing.

Together with bakdata we will introduce you to our API analytics architecture. We will walk you through the individual steps and point you to the challenges we had to tackle. You will learn how we implemented extensibility, multi-tenancy, and replay capabilities. Throughout our pipelines, we use state here and there. As a bonus, we will give a structured overview of how to properly use Interactive Queries v2 on the different Kafka Streams state stores.

Bios:
Ajinkya Khalwadekar (AJ) is a backend engineer at apinity. With a background in building cloud-based micro service architectures he’s now applying his experience to stream data processing.

Ramin Gharib is a software and data engineer at bakdata. He works on building data pipelines and distributed processing with Apache Kafka. He enjoys DevOps and the deployment of distributed processing to the cloud. Ramin is an active open-source developer contributing tools for Apache Kafka ecosystem.
