Expressive Minds: Exploring Neurodivergence Through Arts and Creativity

Details
Have you ever been curious to know more about ADHD and/or Autism but didn’t know where to start? If you have questioned wether you may be an ADHDer or Autistic and want to learn more about it from an expert who is neurodivergent themself, then this is a workshop for you!
With a framework of Expressive Arts Therapy, we will start with an information and discussion session led by our facilitator. She will give you more information about what it means to be neurodivergent and how it manifests itself in adulthood. We will then move into using collage and written word to explore your personal journey with neurodivergence. We will finish with some practical support for next steps and a Q&A session.
Leave with a better understanding of Autism/ADHD, yourself, and what services and supports are available to you.
Participants will learn to use creative expression for self care. Working with the principle of low skill/high sensitivity, our focus is on the process of art making, rather than the results. No creative or artistic expertise is needed; we appreciate all skill levels. We ensure a safe space to engage with creativity without judgement or critique.
All are welcome! We commit to ensuring a safe space for all people. We believe in self diagnosis and invite those that are wondering if they are neurodivergent and want to know more.
The workshop is run by Emily Pye, a Neurodivergent & Expressive Arts Coach, who has worked in educational and clinical settings to support neurodivergent people for 15 years. She is a proud late diagnosed AuDHDer and her work focuses on empowerment, self-worth, and teaching clients to work with their brain, not against it.
