Title: AI in Portfolio Management - a Primer
Abstract: A core task in finance consists in building and optimizing equity portfolios, i.e. investments in tradeable financial assets such as bitcoin, ETFs, securities or stocks. The key question being how much to invest in a given asset through time so as to maximize (cumulative) returns. In this introduction we recall the key portfolio management statistical models (Markowitz theory), and discuss how deep learning is being used to automate and improve upon this task.
