Virtual Autonomous Driving Meetup #2
Details
Password: ADmmVirtual02
We are continuing our 2nd virtual Meetup on Autonomous Driving on June 25! 🎉
Our special take on the matter will certainly remain: the Meetup aims to provide a broad overview, with talks from software companies, startups, OEMs and Tiers; addressing anything from convolutional neural networks to safety and legal questions.
The link to the web conference will be made accessible to everyone who made it to the attendees list. 😉
___ Agenda ___
_ Introduction & Welcome
_ Session 1: Strategy to Increase Safety of Deep Learning based
Perception for Highly Automated Driving
Dr. Stefan Milz, Founder (MD) & Head of R&D at Spleenlab
www.spleenlab.ai
• Understand the challenges in ML for safety critical systems
• Current Safety Strategies with respect to actual reference standards (ISO 26262/ SOTIF also DO178)
• Example Research Overview of Self-Supervision (Scalability)
_ Session 2: The rise of intelligent testing automation for ADAS/AD in light of Covid-19
Sharon Rosenberg, Product Lead and Technical Fellow at Foretellix
www.foretellix.com
A lot of companies that focus on high level ADAS and AV development are facing new challenges related to Covid-19 that will have a long term impact on traditional methods of testing and validation.A few examples • The need to reduce or halt on-road testing because of quarantine and social distancing • The loss in revenue due to halt in production warrants careful consideration when it comes to cost spending These challenges present opportunities – Companies can now invest more time in ramping up an intelligent verification infrastructure. One that will take the virtual simulators that exist today and envelope them with a rigorous, closed loop way to validate the ADAS and AV system, find more bugs and reduce cost of failure, reduce the cost of the validation process by being much more productive and save time to deployment.
_ Session 3: Challenges of CAV Validation for Complex Urban Environments
Stéphane Barbier, Chief Development Officer TRANSPOLIS
www.transpolis.fr
Validating automated vehicles for cities and urban environment needs to set up a new systemic approach to the mobility issues, from the "think tank" to the "do tank".
