Dear AWS'lers,

We would like to invite you to our November event. This time, tecRacer will allow us to hold our event at their location. Thanks in advance for hosting!

This time we have 2 exciting talks by Davide de Paolis and Hendrik Hagen, also thanks to you both in advance!

Since space is somewhat limited, we would like to ask you to cancel in time if you are unable to attend to allow others to participate.

Agenda:

18:00 Warm up
~18:30 Talks:

  1. Architecting Cross-Account Microservices on AWS with Terraform by Hendrik Hagen
When implementing a microservice architecture, it's common for each service to be independently managed by different teams. In AWS, achieving this often involves deploying each team's resources into dedicated AWS accounts. While this distributed approach brings many benefits, including enhanced productivity, scalability, resilience, resource isolation, heightened security, and better cost management, it also introduces an additional layer of complexity, particularly concerning AWS cross-account communication and microservice consumption.
In this presentation, I aim to illustrate how you can leverage the capabilities of AWS serverless technologies in combination with Terraform to build a fully-managed and serverless cross-account microservice architecture

  2. short break for about 15 mins

  3. Figs and Canary Birds: how we reduced complexity (and costs!) by gradually switching to serverless by Davide de Paolis
What is the strangler fig pattern?
    What are canary rollouts?
How can you leverage Application Load Balancer Target Groups to migrate a PHP monolith into a serverless application - on a different account?
This session will cover all these topics and see how to deploy our application using AWS CDK.

  4. open round for Q&A and private talks
