AI - Ethical Challenges

Artificial Intelligence is gaining more and more importance in all aspects of life. In this talk, Dr. Meier will present a series of ethical questions that AI needs to answer. He will talk about classical ethical theories and connect these to contemporary ethical dilemma-situations for AI. By doing so, we aim to motivate computer scientist and all people working with AI, to enrich their approaches in an ethical way. One further part will concern the problem of bias in the development and design of algorithms. By educating all of us more in ethics, we can become more thoughtful about the development of AI, and hence develop an ethically better informed and… possibly a more “ethical”, “morally better” AI.
