Cycle & dine - Gutshof Kraatz

Details

============= FACTS =============
ROUTE: Nechlin > Gutshof Kraatz > Templin
LEVEL: Experienced
DISTANCE: 65ish km
MEETING POINT: Südkreuz, 08:10 on platform 7 for RE 3
============= FACTS =============

============= DETAILS =============
ROUTE:
One of my "must visits" every year is the Gutshof Kraatz. This very unique place offers not only Schnitzel from Deers but a broad variety of delicious juice from lots of fruits… okay, and some cider and wine as well. And some home made cake… and…

Starting in Nechlin we ride on mainly solid ground for about 24km before we reach Kraatz. Inbetween is the "Cafe Dornröschen", https://www.rosenhofflemming.de where we could stop by for a quick Coffee.

After the always delicious lunch at Kraatz we head south west, passing Parmen and then on a looooong, a very looong former railway embankment towards Templin.

Depending on mood, time and weather we have another stop at the Kräutercafé Tietz in Parmen for a Coffee & Cake and later on for a swim at the Großer Warthesee.

Hopefully refreshed and relaxed we head back the remaining 16km to Templin where we hop into the train which brings us straight back to Berlin.

Even if the majority of the route is expected to be on solid ground, the distance and some other roads require a certain fitness and proper bikes!
If the weather or some other unforeseen circumstances are preventing us from having a jolly good time I may re-schedule this tour.

SPEED:
Leisurely around 14 km/h (and I mean it).
This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat"

DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:
This is an about 65ish km ride, with mainly solid but some soft forrest ground.
In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me!
Electric bikes don't really fit the idea of this tour as well!
And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before!

MEETING POINT:
Berlin Südkreuz, 08:10 on platform 7 for RB 3
I have blue Villiger Trekking bike.

TICKET:
Since the chao… situation regarding tickets hasn't really improved I buy one Berlin-Brandenburg-Ticket and invite the first 4 people who get in touch to join me on that ticket. Please bring cash!
All others: please feel free to organise your own Ticket/BBT.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling.

While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along!

And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work?
Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you!

Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it.
