Speaker: Tuana Çelik, Sr. Developer Relations Engineer at LlamaIndex

Agents present a whole new way of building software: one where you give your app a goal, some tools, and it figures out how to get the job done on its own. The results? Not just better and more accurate answers, but systems that can actually do things behind the scenes, and even on your behelf.

At LlamaIndex, we’ve been deep in the weeds building real, useful agentic apps. In this session, we’ll walk you through how that actually works. We’ll cover some of the core design patterns—like event-driven workflows, routing, parallelization, orchestrator-worker setups, and evaluator-optimizer loops—and show how to bring them to life in LlamaIndex.

From there, we’ll explore how these pieces fit together into more advanced agents, and eventually into full-on multi-agent systems, all using built-in tools from the LlamaIndex framework. We’ll also zoom in on one of the latest and most powerful components in an agent’s toolkit: MCP servers and tools, and how they help agents get the live context they need to hit their goals.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a handle on:

- building agents using LlamaIndex
- composing agents into multi-agent systems
- designing reusable tools your agents can call on
- giving your agents real-time knowledge

You'll learn the fundamentals of what makes an agentic application, as well as an intro into starting to build your own agents.

In this talk, we'll use the open-source LlamaIndex framework in Python and some models from providers like OpenAI and Anthropic.
