FORAGING SEASON IS HERE!
Welcome to the Broke Cuties Foraging Club! This is a once-a-month, donation-based foraging workshop, intended to increase the accessibility of foraging for folks with lower incomes who can't otherwise afford to attend. All are warmly welcome, but the broke cuties who are particularly in need of some nature/foraging magic are extra encouraged to come along!

Join instructor Simka (they/them) for an afternoon wander through Hasenheide Park, where we will get acquainted with an incredible, delicious range of common, beginner-friendly herbs and flowers growing right in the heart of the city – no experience necessary.

The diversity of edible plants that surround us in Berlin is extraordinary, and there's no better time to dive into foraging - because once you know what to look for, there is wild food everywhere. Together we'll explore the urban greenery and learn the basics of how to find, identify, harvest, and prepare the wild and urban plants that are currently in season.

With a big focus on keeping yourself – and the land and its other inhabitants – safe while foraging, you'll discover how to get confident enough to bring your own harvest home, and come away with loads of ideas for how to prepare your finds.

This tour will place special emphasis on creating and sustaining community – both with other humans, and also with the non-human world.
The workshop language is English, though German plant names and other translation support is happily given along the way upon request.

All are welcome, regardless of income! Please donate within your capacity. If you are experiencing financial precarity, please donate whatever is comfortable for you. If you have secure income and/or savings, please choose a higher donation to help subsidize these tours for those who would otherwise be unable to attend.

I ask for a 5€ minimum donation because in my experience, people often register but don't show up for “free” events. However, if even 5€ is challenging to spare but you're committed to attending, just send me an email and I'll send you a special registration link.

To help give a donation framework, it might be useful to know that my usual workshops cost 45€, and that I live off this income. Many thanks for your contribution!

A note on pricing & philosophy from Simka:
It's a deep value of mine that this learning – which radically connects us with ourselves, the land, and one another – should be accessible for everyone, which is why I'm keeping my tours as low-price as I possibly can, upholding this financial accessibility while keeping it sustainable for myself.

For these once-a-month community workshops, everyone is invited. Please contribute as you can. I set a minimum of 5€ donation to increase the accountability to show up on the day, and not cancel last-minute, but if you do need a 100% discount code, just reach out directly.

Thanks for being with me in navigating through the challenges of capitalism with justice, honesty and compassion!
