Wir verbringen ein langes Wochenende zum Lichterfest in Łódź, der drittgrößten Stadt Polens.

Die Stadt ist ein echter Geheimtipp für Städtereisende und Kulturinteressierte. Die Stadt überrascht mit einer einzigartigen Mischung aus industriellem Erbe, moderner Kreativität und multikultureller Geschichte.

Neben zahlreichen Events zum Lichterfest werden wir an diesem Wochenende genügend Zeit haben, uns die einzigartige Architektur und Industriegeschichte der Stadt anzuschauen, so z.B. die Piotrowska-Straße mit prachtvollen Bürgerhäusern und Jugendstilfassaden oder die Manufaktura, ein ehemaliges Textilfabrikgelände, das heute ein modernes Zentrum für Shopping, Gastronomie, Kunst und Unterhaltung ist. Wir entdecken außerdem Księży Młyn. Dieses historische Fabrikviertel ist ein beeindruckendes Beispiel für die industrielle Entwicklung im 19. Jahrhundert.

Łódź ist außerdem berühmt für seine großflächigen Wandgemälde und Graffitis, die das Stadtbild prägen. Das Galeria Urban Forms Festival zählt zu den wichtigsten Street-Art-Festivals weltweit.

Das Kunstmuseum (Muzeum Sztuki) besitzt eine der bedeutendsten Sammlungen moderner Kunst in Europa. Daneben gibt es zahlreiche weitere Museen, wie das Museum für Kinematografie, das Zentrale Textilmuseum und das Museum der Stadtgeschichte.

Łódź ist das Zentrum der polnischen Filmindustrie. Die renommierte Filmhochschule brachte viele berühmte Regisseure hervor, und das Museum für Kinematografie ist ein Muss für Filmfans.

Im 19. Jahrhundert prägten Polen, Deutsche, Juden und Russen die Stadt. Davon zeugen prachtvolle Kirchen, Synagogen und einer der größten jüdischen Friedhöfe Europas. Das ehemalige Ghetto Łódź und die Spuren der jüdischen Gemeinde sind bewegende Zeugnisse der Stadtgeschichte.

Uns wird zeitweise ein Einheimischer aus der Stadt begleiten.

Jeder Teilnehmer bucht nach Anmeldung seine Fahrt und seine Übernachtung für zwei Nächte (bis Sonntag) oder drei Nächte (bis Montag) selbst. Der Tourenleiter bleibt bis Montag und empfiehlt drei Nächte, um das Lichterfest samt Programm auch am Sonntag Abend zu erleben.

Wer am Sonntag fahren muss, nimmt am besten den Zug ab Lodz Kaliska um 16:20 Uhr.

Der Tourenleiter wohnt im Focus Hotel Lodz, einem ehemaligen Fabrikgebäude, das zum Hotel umgebaut wurde. Jeder Teilnehmer entscheidet aber selbst, wo er übernachten möchte.

We'll spend a long weekend celebrating the Festival of Lights in Łódź, Poland's third-largest city.

The city is a real insider tip for city travelers and culture vultures. The city surprises with a unique blend of industrial heritage, modern creativity, and multicultural history.

In addition to numerous events during the Festival of Lights, we'll have plenty of time this weekend to explore the city's unique architecture and industrial history, such as Piotrowska Street with its magnificent town houses and Art Nouveau facades, or the Manufaktura, a former textile factory site that is now a modern center for shopping, dining, art, and entertainment. We'll also explore Księży Młyn. This historic factory district is an impressive example of 19th-century industrial development.

Łódź is also famous for its large-scale murals and graffiti that characterize the cityscape. The Galeria Urban Forms Festival is one of the most important street art festivals in the world.

The Art Museum (Muzeum Sztuki) houses one of the most important collections of modern art in Europe. There are also numerous other museums, such as the Museum of Cinematography, the Central Textile Museum, and the Museum of the City's History.

Łódź is the center of the Polish film industry. The renowned film school has produced many famous directors, and the Museum of Cinematography is a must-see for film fans.

In the 19th century, Poles, Germans, Jews, and Russians shaped the city. Magnificent churches, synagogues, and one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in Europe bear witness to this. The former Łódź Ghetto and the traces of the Jewish community are moving testaments to the city's history.

A local will accompany us at times.

Each participant books their own transport and accommodation for two nights (until Sunday) or three nights (until Monday) after registration. The tour guide will stay until Monday and recommends three nights to experience the Festival of Lights and its program on Sunday evening.

The tour guide will be staying at the Focus Hotel Lodz, a former factory building that has been converted into a hotel. Each participant decides where he wants to stay.
