Über uns
This is a community for men of all kinds. We come together in different formats to socialize, learn, grow, and to support each other. You'll often find us talking about areas of life such as our relationships, family, work, (mental) health, and spiritual growth, to name just a few...
The mission
This group creates a protected space for shifting the attention back to ourselves and spending time in the company of other men for self-reflection and personal growth. You are welcomed simply as the man you are with feelings and needs distinct from your job, your partnerships, or any other role. In the group we build relationships with other men and we work on the relationship with ourselves.
What we offer
We organize engaging group activities that span from intimate workshops to larger social gatherings. Some of our regular events include in-person and online circles, casual meet and greets, weekend retreats and outings in nature. We are constantly adding new ways to engage and always welcome members input and involvement to create new experiences.
Who is welcome?
The group is for men of any age, any ethnicity, any level of experience, any sexual preference, and any way of expressing their gender. This group is explicitly pro-men, not anti-women. We recognise of course that there are many aspects of masculinity, maleness, manhood and being a man: There is no single 'correct' way of defining these – and we don't seek to here. This group is a space for anyone who identifies as a man, and we leave it up to you to know if what we're offering sounds right for you. Everyone is invited to come along and see if our meetings are useful for them.
Psychological emergencies
The Berlin Men’s Group is not a therapy group - the men who facilitate it are also ‘just’ members of the community. If you are experiencing acute distress, and need support for a psychological crisis, please consider reaching out to one of these professional organisations:
https://www.berliner-krisendienst.de/en/ - many languages
https://www.berlin.de/lb/psychiatrie/hilfe-in-krisen/sozialpsychiatrische-dienste-der-bezirke/ - website in German
For individual needs - BMG's partner project, Zigmal
In 2023, a few members of Berlin Men's Group created Zigmal e.V., a not-for-profit association. Some men's needs fall outside the scope of our group work. and Zigmal exists to support those individual needs. Whether you're looking for resources for men in Berlin, psychosocial support, guidance on your own men's project, or something else that's specific to you - Zigmal can offer you simple responses relevant to your situation.

Alles ansehen- What About Men? Is Masculinity Really in Crisis?Link für Teilnehmer sichtbar
“The crisis in mature masculinity is very much upon us. Lacking adequate models of mature men… it’s ‘every man for himself.’ … We just know we are anxious, on the verge of feeling impotent… We cave into a dog-eat-dog world…” Rober L. Moore
Masculinity is supposedly in crisis. Is it?
What does that mean to you and for the world? Meanwhile, everybody’s talking about Adolescence and it seems like all the podcasts and shows are about men all of a sudden. Do you have thoughts? Want to share and discuss? In the above quote, Moore was talking about the ‘crisis of masculinity’ - already in 1990. Why isn’t this crisis over? It seems that everybody has a different view of what it even means. And there are so many associated questions: How long has it been in crisis? Where did this crisis come from? What are its sources? What are the solutions? Is it useful to talk about it? And what does it mean to regular men? It’s time we delve deeper into these and try to untangle the mess.
PathForge is hosting this informal discussion group for anyone interested in how public debates around men and masculinity are unfolding across different perspectives. Every session, we read two short, recently published opinion pieces:
📰 One from a more conservative outlet
📰 One from a more liberal outletWe flip a coin to decide which comes first, read together, and then dive into open discussion. No expertise required - just curiosity, respect, and a willingness to engage with different points of view.
This is a space for creating understanding, thinking constructively, and exploring new possibilities together. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or stuck. The social rules are shifting, the messages are often contradictory, and it can seem like the spotlight is always on the negatives. But change isn’t just about critique - it’s also about building something better. We’re not here to score points or tear things down, but to listen, reflect, and imagine what a healthier, more honest conversation about men and masculinity might look like.

- Social: Meetup at Jäger und Lustig FriedrichshainJäger & Lustig, Berlin
This is a casual, social meetup in a Friedrichshain bar and eatery, with no set agenda or topics. Time to get to know some of the other men in the group and to learn about the different other formats we offer.
For newcomers, it's a relaxed opportunity to check out the group and see if it's right for you - and a chance to ask hosts and other regular attendees about what we get up to.
Get together and have a beer - perhaps an alcohol-free one, if you prefer - with us after the working day.
Jäger & Lustig is also a restaurant, if you want to grab something to eat: https://jaegerundlustig.de/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Jaeger-und-Lustig-Speisekarte-06-2024-Web-de.pdf
If weather permits we will be sitting outside in the beer garden. The table is reserved on my name.
We're looking forward to seeing you !
