Portugal. The Wine

To celebrate the arrival of spring stretching into summer, we will gather in the Weingalerie to enjoy a selection of Portuguese wines curated by the owner, Karsten, and myself. After returning from a tour around Bairrada and Porto's World of Wine, I'm keen to share my favourite Portuguese grapes with you, and taste exciting new ones. Portuguese wine is highly underrated and under the radar - my mission is to change that! We will try 8 wines in total - a selection of white, rosé and reds from a range of regions. As ever, the tasting will be accompanied by snacks such as cheese, bread, cold meats and olives. With 30 years of experience in the trade, Karsten will speak in German and I will add some anecdotes and info in English.

Im Mai führt uns unsere Weinreise nach Portugal. Das Weinland wird vertreten durch die Weingalerie Berlin, Gewinner in der Kategorie Bester Fachhändler Portugal (Berlin Wine Trophy). Seit über 30 Jahren sucht Besitzer Karsten Kubin die besten Weine Portugals für seinen Laden, wo er traditionellen Namen sowie sämtliche Geheimtipps für seine Kunden einkauft. Karsten und ich werden eine handverlesene Auswahl von 8 Weinen auf deutsch und englisch präsentieren, die sowohl aus bekannten Weinregionen wie Douro und Alentejo als aus weniger bekannten Ecken des Weinlands stammen. Zur Begleitung gibt es portugiesische Tapas.
