Vino Vulcanico Italiano - Eruptions in a Glass

Details
We wine lovers have heard a few rumblings about amazing vineyards on the slopes and foothills of Italy’s major volcanoes, Etna and Vesuvius...Exciting, mineral whites and reds from the Bay of Naples and Sicily will now battle it out in your wine glass – and you can be the judge of the best taste eruption! As well as enjoying Campanian and Sicilian grapes (and comparing an active and a dormant volcano) we will be tasting wines from lesser known volcanic areas, such as the Veneto Volcanic Province, Monte Vulture in the Basilicata region, the ‘burning fields’ (Campi Flegrei) near Napoli and the Aeolian islands of Salina and Stromboli.
Stephan Pelzl, the owner of Altrovino wine bar and store, will be guiding us through his personally curated selection of 10 wines from Italy’s volcanic soils, kicking off with a classic sparkling from Etna. There will be a buffet for us to enjoy, including typical Italian snacks, cheese and cold cuts to accompany the wines.
This year, Stephan celebrates his ten year anniversary with Altrovino, which focuses on 100% Italian wines from 100% autochthonous, traditional Italian grapes. He travels to Italy regularly to meet the winemakers and buy their wares for his bar / store in Kreuzberg. His focus is on authentically crafted wines from exciting small producers. You will be 'hard pressed' to find his wines anywhere else. But no need to travel to the vineyards on perilous volcanic slopes, you can simply join us for the clash of the volcanoes in Kreuzberg!
The event will be in English and German, with many translators at the table:)
