Introduction to Watercolours - Fridays Workshop

If you’ve ever wondered how to paint with watercolours but didn’t quite dare to start, this class is for you. Begin the year with a relaxed and creative introduction to watercolour, specifically designed for beginners and curious creatives.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the essentials of watercolour painting: how water and pigment interact, how transparency works, and how to control (and enjoy) the unexpected effects that water can create. We’ll practice wet-on-wet techniques, layering washes, creating soft textures, and playful effects using salt, splashes, and lifting colour. Most importantly, we’ll focus on letting go, experimenting, and building confidence with the medium.

No previous experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. This class is about learning the basics while enjoying the process and discovering your own creative flow.

Material:
Material for watercolours is very specific. If you use poor-quality or non-professional material, you won't achieve the optimal results.
