Machine Learning on Streams

Details
Dear Big Data Beerer's,
It is my pleasure to announce the next meeting / talk:
Speaker: Dr. Mikio Braun, Streamdrill inc.
Topic: Machine Learning on Streams
Date: 15.4.2014 (Tuesday!)
Time: 19:30 / 7:30 pm
Location: TU Berlin, HE 101, the big bulge at the tail of the red/blue Mathematic Building at Strasse des 17.Juni near Ernst-euter Platz
https://www.mydesk.tu-berlin.de/campusuebersicht/raum/26538.html
Abstract: An important category of Big Data is real-time data, for example given by log data, sensor data, user interaction events, and so on. In this talk I will discuss basic learning challenges from streams, recent progress in frameworks like Twitter's Storm and Apache Spark, and talk about stream mining as an alternative approach to learning from streams which does not rely on brute force scaling.
