The Meaning of Bitcoin in a Cosmological Perspective

Bitcoin exists. What can we infer from this observation about the universe?

The obvious answer: The Reason why we haven't observed intelligent life in the universe ist not because it doesn't exist, but because any intelligent life would have covered its sun in solar panels in order to power proof-of-work.

But what non-trivial inferences can we make? This talk explores a link between Bitcoin and a seeming contradiction between general relativity and quantum physics known as the BLACK HOLE INFORMATION PARADOX.

The story is that there is no contradiction: Bitcoin fixes this.

Alan Szepieniec is not only a BAS insider but also a high profile cryptography researcher. He holds a Master of Science in Mathematical Engineering from KU Leuven and continued his scientific work with a PhD on post quantum cryptography. Alan's latest contribution to the Crypto ecosystem is the NEPTUNE-A-SEA-OF-FREEDOM project.
