Platform Engineering in the Age of AI
Details
AI is changing not only how we build software, but also how we think about the platforms and infrastructure underneath it. What happens when agents start taking over tasks traditionally handled by developers and platform teams? And how can we build platforms that give developers more freedom without sacrificing reliability and control?
At this Cloud Native Night, we’ll explore Platform Engineering in the Age of AI — from rethinking Infrastructure as Code for an agentic world to the principles and architectures behind successful internal developer platforms. Join us for two talks, practical insights, and plenty of discussion about where cloud-native infrastructure is heading next.
THIS MEETUP will be in ENGLISH and HYBRID. | Zoom Link is visible for remote attendees after registration.

*** ABSTRACTS ***
You need IaC. You don’t need to be doing IaC.
- Pavlo Baron (CEO at Platform Engineering Labs)
With AI coding tools and agents being responsible for more and more application code, the shift in infrastructure management is becoming obvious: AI clarified which code is worth owning, and IaC isn’t. A lot in IaC was designed for humans doing all the work, and this changes dramatically. Using the example of the AI-native formae IaC, I will explain the shift, the consequences and how IaC needs to transition into the AI age.
Make developers fly: Principles for platform engineering - Alex Krause (Software Architect at QAware)
How do we help our developers to fly, but not crash? The answer lies in platform engineering, a discipline that involves building internal developer platforms (IDPs) to simplify software delivery for product teams.
In this talk, you will learn how platform engineering evolved from the DevOps movement and how principles such as decentralisation, self-service and customisation are essential for successful implementation.
Finally, we will examine reference architectures that can support your platform, as well as the CNCF Platform Engineering Maturity Model, which helps you assess the next steps to take with regard to Investment, Adoption, Interfaces, Operations, and Measurement.
