After six months of regular meetings online, we are taking a break to brainstorm the next steps for our community. We have been thrilled to see the interest in ethics and AI across so many countries, age groups, fields of work, and so much more. At Lavrio.solutions, we are committed to educating people about artificial intelligence, and bringing explainable AI into the mainstream.

Morning coffee & online discussion of ethical topics in the context of artificial intelligence...

In 2020, Germany adopted an AI strategy which includes a commitment to contribute a total of EUR 5 billion by 2025. Globally, development in this field has been called an “AI Arms Race,” with China, the US, and Europe each taking unique approaches to advance this new economy.

As practitioners navigate this uncharted territory, old notions of technology’s relationship with humans must be brought into review. Old approaches won’t work, and new challenges are discovered every day. More than ever, a democratic approach must be prioritized. Marginalized populations face exponential exclusion, and social issues will be magnified.

Coffee, Ethics & AI is a bi-weekly online conversation about the most pressing issues related to this work. Practitioners and interested parties can join us every other Thursday morning from 9-10am CET for an open coffee club style conversation on breaking news, ethical dilemmas, and what the future holds for all of us in a digitized world.
