Quiet Writing Hour (English)

Hi everyone,

Quiet Writing Hour is a low-key creative writing meetup where we sit down to write together.

The focus is on creative writing, such as fiction, poetry, or personal projects. Writers of all levels are welcome. You can work on anything, from a short poem, short story, to a longer project like a novel. We usually begin with a short writing exercise using a prompt for the first fifteen minutes to get started.
The meetup is also a way to meet other writers and be part of a small writing community in Kaiserslautern.

Our typical meeting goes like this (90 minutes):
18:30 - 18:45: Introduction and icebreaker (using the weekly prompt)
18:45 - 19:00: Brief description of current projects
19:00 - 19:30: Focused free writing (on any of your personal projects)
19:30 - 19:45: Time for feedback/discussion
19:45 - : Socializing and closeout

What to bring:

• Writing medium (pen/paper, laptop, iPad etc)
• A smile :)

WEEKLY WRITING PROMPT: "You wake up at the bottom of a well, look around. Nothing but stone surrounds you. Then you spot a small gap in the wall and crawl through…"

About me:
I (Sheikh) recently moved to Kaiserslautern and work as a fellow at MPI-SWS. I enjoy writing in my free time and am hosting this meetup as a simple, regular space to write together.
