Chai Break
Details
Come hungry. Leave with a story.
We’re opening our table to strangers — and turning them into friends over one of Calcutta’s most beloved street foods and a cup of chai that warms from the inside out.
The Kathi Roll was born on the pavements of Calcutta in the early 20th century, when the kitchens of Nizam’s restaurant began wrapping skewer-grilled kebabs in flaky parathas so office workers could eat on the go. What started as a lunchtime shortcut became a city’s soul food — layered with chutneys, onions, lime, and spice, each roll tells the story of a metropolis that never slows down.
Chai — milky, sweet, gently spiced — has been the social glue of the Indian subcontinent for centuries. Brewed with cardamom, ginger, and black tea, it is the drink that pauses the day, starts conversations, and makes strangers feel welcome. No meeting in India begins without it.
On the 29th of May, we bring both to Munich — not as novelties, but as an invitation. Sit across from someone you don’t yet know. Share a roll. Drink a cup of tea. See what happens.
🎟 Entry: €15 per person
Includes one loaded Kathi Roll + one cup of masala chai
Space is limited — this is a table, not a restaurant.
Supper clubs are about people as much as food. Come as you are. Leave having met someone worth knowing.
