Monthly Club Meeting – Your Breath is Your Superpower

Details

From our presenter, Annette Henry:

I'm sure I'd heard the phrase ‘dysfunctional breathing’ some time ago, but assumed it to refer to severely challenged breathing that must be apparent to anyone who witnessed it. It came as an unwelcome surprise, therefore, to discover that I was breathing dysfunctionally and that it had never been apparent to me.

Once I addressed my sub-optimal breathing two things hap pened. My health and quality of life improved and I decided I absolutely must share this information with others, which led to my training as a Breathing Instructor. I soon became both fascinated and dismayed by the issues of female breathing. Breathing is differ ent for women both in the reproductive years and in the years that follow. And it mat ters. But nobody is talking about it. I do want to talk about it, to enable women to take an active role in their cyclical and menopausal health. I'm therefore delighted to have the opportunity to speak to the Berlin International Women’s Club to pass on some of what I've learnt to you.

I'm a qualified Buteyko Breathing Instructor and an Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing Instructor. I've had the privilege of working with a number of individuals to help them successfully retrain their breathing as well as delivering workshops to groups including a Fatigue Foundation and International Women in Finance.
