The Importance of System Thinking

Details
Systems theory views the world as a complex system of interconnected parts. One delineates a system by defining its boundaries, i.e., one chooses which entities are inside the system and which are outside — part of the environment.
To describe the advantage of system thinking in one word you can say: leverage.
While one can create simplified representations (models) of the system to understand it and predict or influence its future behavior (which will be our starting point in the meetup), a system cannot be reduced to its parts. It needs specific conditions and 'treatment' to be useful.
