What makes puerh tea so unique—so moving and unlike any other tea—is its deep connection with time. Time of maturation, time of tasting, and the unhurried time of simply being with the tea.
This rare tasting invites you to experience that connection firsthand through a vertical tasting of exceptional puerh teas. Inspired by a concept from the wine world, we’ll taste teas from different years—starting with a fresh harvest and gradually moving back in time, ending with a remarkable tea from the 1990s.
Over the course of four hours, we’ll explore how puerh teas evolve—how they mature, deepen, and reveal their character across infusions, seasons, and decades. As we taste, we won’t just be drinking tea—we’ll be listening to it. Tasting becomes its own passage through time: each cup a moment, each infusion a chapter. Each infusion tells a part of the story: subtle shifts in aroma, energy, and emotion that unfold only with time and attention.
This workshop is designed as an intimate and informal gathering. We’ll sit around a table, share the teas, and create space for reflection, conversation, and discovery. While not a structured workshop, the session carries a pedagogic intention: to deepen your understanding of puerh’s unique relationship with time, and to offer you the tools to appreciate it more fully.
Whether you're a seasoned tea drinker or new to puerh, this is a rare chance to encounter these living teas in a way that goes beyond taste—into memory, sensation, and the unfolding of time itself.

About Olivier Schneider:
Olivier Schneider studied art in Europe and began a career as an artist before falling in love with tea and moving to Asia. He has spent the past 20 years in the Golden Triangle studying tea — especially in Yunnan, where he lived for more than a decade, and in Thailand, where he now resides. Over these years, he has carried out numerous research programs on the teas of this region — in particular the most renowned, puerh — in countries such as Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar, as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, which are all deeply connected to the history of puerh tea.
He has written numerous articles about tea and is currently working on a book about puerh that brings together decades of research. He also regularly teaches around the world on tea and tea culture, and works as an independent tea expert and sourcing partner for various tea houses.
Olivier now lives in the mountains along the Thailand–Myanmar border, where he owns a centuries-old tea garden. There, he has established a private tea studio to continue his research, experiment with tea processing, and practice the subtle art of tea brewing.
In parallel, Olivier is developing a completely new and artistic approach to tea. His vision is to free the tea leaf from any commercial, conventional, or established form, and to explore its potential as a means for expressing and conveying deeply personal perceptions and emotions.

C*SPACE
C*SPACE Berlin gGmbH is a purpose-driven creative space for co-working, workshops & events, dedicated to ideas and encounters across borders. Tea culture is a central element not only of the organisational culture at C*SPACE but also do teahouse events with various focuses - from tea as such to topical salon discussions or art and culture - regularly pop-up at this place throughout the year. In the summer of 2021, we launched the ‘Pop-Up Teahouse Berlin-project’ with initial support from the Berlin Senate in the framework of its activities to foster Berlin’s open cosmopolitan spirit, and it has been an ongoing program since then. In 2022, we were honoured to act as location partner for a smaller version of the BTF- Berlin Tea Festival.

They have published an impressive short documentary series ‘Gesichter hinter dem Tee' which portrays the people and stories behind the products.
