Unfortunately the first meetup had to be postponed by two weeks to the 22nd April!

This is the first meetup of this group and I am very excited to meet you!

For our first meeting I (Tobias Boelter) will start with a presentation about

SEEED: How SAP can still crunch data when it is encrypted by the customer

as this was the topic with the most votes and is in my opinion also a very interesting one: You can barely read about it in the web, it does not require advanced math, and it will also gently introduce everyone to some modern concepts of cryptography, even if they only have very little background in crypto.

Just to give an impression about what we could talk in the future, here is a list of other topics I proposed:

• Zero Knowledge Proof: An Overview, zk-SNARKS and how to use them to make Bitcoin really privacy preserving

• Bitcoin: An Introduction

• Secure Multiparty Computation: An Introduction

• BigInteger Libraries: An Overview of available libraries, their design, and how I tried to speed up modular multiplication

The venue for our first meeting will be the Hackerspace Saarbrücken (https://www.hacksaar.de/). We will start at 6:00pm and thus it will smoothly blend over into HackMi, which is an event weekly hosted by the Hackerspace.

I'm also trying to find sponsors for our event to provide food and beverages.
