Verified Vectors: eBPF Security & IP Integrity
Details
We are happy to announce the next eBPF-focused meetup in Vienna scheduled for March 6, 2026.
All talks will be suited for beginners and experts as well.
Whether you're a web developer, platform engineer, data scientist or simply curious about the latest advancements in the world of IT, this event is for you.
Come and join us to network with like-minded professionals, expand your knowledge in eBPF and explore how this open-source technology is revolutionizing the way we solve problems.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to stay ahead of the curve!
Special thanks to our sponsors:

- 17:00 - 17:25: Arrival and Registration
- 17:25 - 17:30: Welcome - by the Organizers
- 17:30 - 18:00: The pod knows where you're from
- preserving Source IP with Cilium and DSR
- by Marcel Gredler - 18:00 - 18:30: Break

Topic 1: The Pod Knows Where You're From – Preserving Source IP with Cilium and DSR
In this session, Marcel Gredler delves into maintaining original source IP addresses in Kubernetes pods using Cilium and Direct Server Return (DSR). By bypassing traditional load balancers for return traffic, DSR boosts bandwidth and performance, enabling efficient handling of high-throughput workloads like AI model inference and training in cloud-native setups.
Topic 2: Signing eBPF for Security (with Hornet LSM)
Julian Zhuang discusses enhancing eBPF program security via cryptographic signing integrated with the Hornet Linux Security Module (LSM). This approach verifies eBPF code integrity before kernel loading, reducing vulnerabilities in observability, networking, and security tools while ensuring safe deployment in production environments.
