Elastique. Open House Vol. 14 – XR Special

Elastique. will open its doors again — OPEN HOUSE vol.14 is an Extended Reality (XR)-Special with two exciting talks. “Anomaly” is an interactive Mixed Reality (MR)-prototype and part of the exhibition concept “Empty Shells”, in which visitors are staged as exhibition objects and are confronted with their own virtual incarnation and questions that come with it. “HYPERSLIDES” takes keynote presentations into mixed reality.

All in all it will be an inspiring laid-back evening at our space with keynotes, discussions, drinks, experiencing phygital to digital exhibits (with the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3) and some food.

Touching the digital: Empty Shells — Anomaly
with Betty Schimmelpfennig, Àrmin Ludl & Casper Westhausen

“Empty Shells” is a research project initiated by Prof. Betty Schimmelpfennig at RheinMain University of Appl. Sciences, in collaboration with Elastique. “Anomaly” is one installation within the framework of the “empty-shells” XR-exhibition. The team will give insights into process, concept, design and development of this immersive MR-prototype, that will be set-up and ready to play in our Elastique. “Lab.”

HYPERSLIDES
with Eno Henze

We also invited Eno Henze, Founder & Creative Director at NSYNK and Hyperbowl. He will introduce HYPERSLIDES: a software framework for mixed reality presentations. HYPERSLIDES takes the fundamental idea of a keynote into the immersive, connected space. Eno will give a live demo of HYPERSLIDES using the Apple Vision Pro and look into use cases for various industries. HYPERSLIDES is supported by the innovation fund Distr@l of Hesse.

“Anomaly” — Multiplayer XR-installation in the “Lab”

Ever wanted to touch the digital? Experience what it feels like to dig into a real bowl of digital assets and encounter your digital self in MR. With the Meta Quest 3 Mixed-Reality-Headset you can dive into the new space of Extended Reality and interact with phygital objects and decorate your “empty shell” collaboratively. To capture the moment you can take your digital takeaway photo in MR. We will open doors at 6 p.m.At 7 p.m. we'll start the keynotes of Betty and Eno. Each keynote will be 20min long with 10 mins for questions and open discussions afterwards.

From about 8:30 p.m. you are invited to go over into the Lab, put on our MR-headsets and try out “Anomaly.” Anastasia, Casper and Àrmin will support you during your trip into the realm of MR.
