Elixir & Erlang Meetup - March 2026
Details
We're excited to host our March 2026 Elixir & Erlang Meetup!
Agenda:
18:30 - Doors open, networking, food, drinks
19:00 - Julian Köpke: The BEAM-Rust Sandwich
Abstract: The BEAM is the perfect tool for building distributed systems that are resilient, maintainable and fun to implement. However, there are certain areas where the BEAM lacks, like computation heavy and graphically intensive applications.
In this talk I will demonstrate why Rust is the perfect match for Elixir. You will learn how to build a Phoenix LiveView application that is sandwiched between Rust, in the browser using WebAssembly, and in the backend using Rustler. Whether you’re planning to build a browser game with 3D graphics, a weather simulation or just want to calculate the last digit of Pi, there is no excuse not to run the BEAM anymore.
19:45 - Lightning Talks, Open Stage: please reach out to us if you want to present!
20:00 - Networking
21:30 - Closing Doors
Notes:
If you want to offer your office or co-working space for hosting future events, are interested in sponsoring food or drinks, or would like to present a talk, please reach out to us!
