The Circles on-chain Universal Basic Income

We're happy to welcome Julio Linares and Martin Köppelmann to talk about the Circles [1] Universal Basic Income project. Julio is a economic anthropologist with the Basic Income Earth Network [2], he has a Msc from the Anthropology department at the London School of Economics. Martin is the CEO and a co-founder of the Gnosis Ethereum-based prediction market [4] and a founder of Circles; he was an organizer of this meetup for several years.

Circles UBI leverages the power of communities to give to each other an unconditional basic income. In this talk, Martin will give a technical overview of how Circles works and Julio Linares will describe the Circles community in Berlin [6], methodologies on how to get started locally and the emergent Bali hub [7]. Blanka Vay from the Berlin Community will also participate.

Steve Waldman has also written about Circles [8] as a form of mutual insurance and used his sbt-ethereum tool [9] to interface with the on-chain Circles code. He'll attend this event and participate in the Q&A.
