🥾 Hike to Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf | DARK (Netflix) Norwegian Chapel & Forest

Join me for a hike through the historic woodland landscapes southwest of Berlin 🌿. We'll explore the Griebnitzsee shoreline, remnants of the Berlin Wall, historic railway infrastructure, and the forest trails of Parforceheide before visiting our main highlight, the remarkable Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf.
This is a Norwegian-style wooden cemetery chapel, which you might recognize from the Netflix series DARK 🏛️.
🥾 Route & Pace
We will start hiking from Potsdam Griebnitzsee station and follow the lakeside paths before making our way through the surrounding woodland and historical landmarks.
The total route is approximately ~16 kilometers. [Komoot path here]
The pace will be brisk through the forested sections, with short photo stops at the major buildings, monuments, and historical landmarks along the trail.
⏱️ Schedule
Morning: We will meet at Berlin Hbf at 10:15 and take our corresponding S-Bahn. (Read travel connection section)
☕️ Breaks:
Lunch break: We will take a lunch break along the route. Bring your own 🥙 food and 🧋drinks.
Short breaks: We will have two additional short breaks along the way for resting, taking photos, and enjoying the surroundings.
Remainder of the day: We will continue through Parforceheide and explore the historic grounds of Südwestkirchhof Stahnsdorf, including the Norwegian-style wooden chapel featured in DARK. Afterwards, we will complete our loop through the surrounding woodland and make our way back toward Griebnitzsee station for our return journey.

As we will be visiting an active cemetery, please be respectful of the grounds, memorials, and other visitors.
