finfinity #15: Faces of Fintech – Founders, Cypherpunks, Libra Developers

Dear friends,

Fintech is not only about numbers, but also about people: Developers working on the next crypto-asset sensation, founders of ambitious fintech companies, investors looking for opportunities to fund promising new tech, and countless more.

We want to put a focus on these “Faces of Fintech” in our 15th upcoming finfinity meetup. It will take place on August 29th 2019, 7 PM at the facilities of KI Group:

Agenda:

1. Our First Speaker is Eric Alexander Holst
   Eric is Blockchain and Community Consultant at KI Group and co-founder of the North Rhine-Westphalian group of the Blockchain Bundesverband. In these functions, he has been furthering blockchain and crypto in Germany for years.

Eric will speak about digital identities. The cypherpunk scene developed decentralized cryptocurrencies and self-sufficient digital identities. This clashes with the Facebook’s intent to centralize both concepts in the Libra project. Eric will explore, why Facebook’s plan leads to risks for individual users and whole nations.

2. Our second speaker is Björn Brücher.
   As a Senior Associate Attorney-at-Law at WSS Redpoint, Björn acts as counsel for corporate transactions, investment and startup integration, as well as fintech, regtech, proptech and insurtech business development. He also passes on his knowledge as an university lecturer.

Björn will run a crash course "Startup Funding 101" about how to successfully fund a startup, with plenty of time for you to ask your questions.
