What is Toastmasters?

First Berlin Toastmasters is an English public speaking club that meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month to make speaking up easier and less stressful - you'll be a confident communicator in no time.

There are usually about 6 to 30 of us from all walks of life.
Here you have the ideal opportunity to improve your skills and receive valuable, constructive but KIND feedback from your peers.

Punctuality is a priority at First Berlin, we appreciate that you are coming after work so we respect your time by starting (and finishing) on the dot, so please arrive at 18.30 so that we have time to find out a bit about you and give you an idea of what to expect.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BRING A PREPARED SPEECH
Just join us and we'll get you used to speaking gradually.

Where? Zoom (but a lot more energy than work meetings, I assure you)

TOAST: Make sure that you have a drink handy for the toast at the beginning of the meeting and don't worry, we have a short break for you to stretch your legs, grab a bite to eat, kiss the kids good night etc in the middle of the meeting.

In Person meetings?
Our In Person meetings are rare but fabulous, normally with a specific theme or venue but never in a dull meeting room, always out and about. It's more of a local discovery than a meeting.

First Berlin Toastmasters Privacy Policy Update
First Berlin Toastmasters takes your privacy very seriously. This notice explains how the club collects your personal data, how
it is used as well as the conditions under which the data may be disclosed to others.

The club may collect your name, address, phone number, and email, via our sign-in sheet and membership application.
This information is used for a variety of club-related purposes, but mostly to keep you informed of the club and organizational news.
The information will be retained for as long as you would like it to be, and you always have the right to ask the club to remove
any of the information from our records. We may also need payment information to process dues, which we will quickly
dispose of after processing. The club will never sell your data. Your information will not be deliberately shared with a third party for their marketing purposes.

TMI World Headquarters, which is located in the United States, will receive your information via the membership application. The
club may use Listserv software (which helps to create an easy to use email recipient list) to organize our communications to
you. The club vets these companies in advance to make sure they are compliant with the current laws and regulations, and to
make sure they will use your information only for the stated purpose.

As per the GDPR requirements, we are working to create a new privacy policy which will fully describe why and how we collect
and process personal information and any member, existing or new, would be able to validate that we handle this information carefully and sensibly.
