- Kick off the meetup with a warm welcome and a brief introduction to the evening's exciting agenda.
Talk 1 - Streamlining Well-Architected Framework reviews with GenAI - Level 200 (30min)
- Description: This presentation introduces the Well-Architected IaC Analyzer, a new AWS tool that leverages generative AI to revolutionize how Well-Architected Framework (WAF) reviews are conducted. The tool addresses a significant challenge in the AWS ecosystem where traditional WAF reviews typically require several hours and multiple subject matter experts to complete. By using generative AI to analyze infrastructure as code and architecture diagrams against AWS best practices, the analyzer can reduce review time from hours to minutes, making the process more efficient and accessible. The presentation includes a demonstration of the tool's capabilities, showing how it performs real-time analysis and provides instant recommendations to help bootstrap architecture reviews.
- Speakers: Ali Nasrat - He a Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS since 2022, also member of the Cloud Operations Technical Field Community at AWS. As a TAM he is more focused on operational topics including security, resilience and optimization. He has worked with customer across various industries including: retail, automotive & manufacturing and media & entertainment.
Talk 2 - Lessons Learned - Migrating 500+ CloudFormation stacks all at once - Level 300 (40min)
- Description: Ever wondered which challenges you encounter when migrating 500+ CloudFormation stacks in a single move? We did exactly that and share what we've learned. In this session, you'll learn:
- - which approach we've taken to accomplish the goal,
- - what risks we identified ahead of time,
- - and the unexpected challenges we encountered along the way.
This specifically covers challenges with deleting and importing CloudFormation resources and reaching certain AWS limits. In the end, we'll share which improvements could have saved us some time and nerves. If you're a developer working with CloudFormation (or infrastructure as code in general) and looking for practical insights, this talk is for you! - Speakers: Sebastian Hesse - He specializes in serverless cloud solutions on AWS and works as a freelance software engineer. Besides having a strong software engineering background, he is passionate about automating the software delivery process by using infrastructure as code tools like CDK and implementing proper CI/CD processes. He enjoys sharing his knowledge on meetups and conferences.
Closing Remarks 🙌
