Above the clouds along the Weil in Taunus

We start at the peak of Feldberg, where we we have a view on the clouds from above, both in the Rhein-Main valley and on the northern side. We hike to a former Roman fort and from the to the Reiffenberg castle ruin. We continue along the Weil river to Schmitten and Dortweil until we reach Hunoldstal. As rivers can't flow to higher elevations, our route is only down.

We meet in Fra Hbf at 10:20 at the beginning of platform 22 for S5 departing at 10:34 at -104. A Deutschlandticket or RMV annual ticket is recommended, but you can also buy a single day ticket.

The distance is ca. 14 km. Take beverages & food for the way with you. Have a look at the route and elevation in the photos section.
