Asmannshausen to Rüdesheim via Niederwald monument with Federweißer Festival

We start in Asmannshausen and hike on the famous Rheinsteig route to the "hunting palace" Niederwald with its game pen. We continue to the "magic cave" and the "knight hall". Then we hike through vineyards to Niederwald monument. We continue through vineyards to St. Hildegard monastery. Then we hike down to Rüdesheim, where we visit the old St. Hildegard church and then to the market place with Federweißer Fest. There is the possibility to get food, local wine or Federweißer (fresh grape juice with a little bit of alcohol). I was assured by the tourist office that it still is available.

We meet in Fra Hbf at 10:45 at the beginning of platform 1a for RB10 departing at 10:53.

The distance is ca. 12 km, hilly. Please have a look at the route and elevation in the photos section. Take beverages & food for way with you.
