Details

It’s been way too long since we last explored the bouldering gyms in Düsseldorf, the surrounding area, and beyond together.

We’ve already visited some amazing gyms such as:

Superblock (Düsseldorf)
Radium (Maastricht)
Monkeyspot (Düsseldorf)
Element (Cologne)
Neoliet (Essen)
Prisma (Düsseldorf)
Boulderwelt (Dortmund)

...and many more!

Now it’s time for Element in Essen!
What used to be a great spot for billiards and snooker has now been transformed into a beautiful bouldering gym.

Let’s get back on the wall together!
Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, everyone is welcome and in good hands with our group.
There’s a suitable difficulty level for everyone, and the more experienced climbers are always happy to offer advice and tips.

The most important event info:

Date: 19.10.25
Start: ~11:00 (just catch the train that suits you, there’s plenty of time to arrive)
End: ~15:00 (depending on mood and energy, optional dinner afterward)
Location: Element Essen, Haedenkamp-Str. 73, 45143 Essen

Schedule:

11:00 – 15:00: Bouldering at Element

The former billiard hall has been completely renovated and now offers around 2,000 m² of bouldering space and everything a climber’s heart could wish for:
varied routes in nine difficulty levels, regularly updated problems, a well-equipped training area with Kilterboard, Campusboard, and a fitness zone, plus a cozy lounge with snacks, coffee, and cold drinks for a well-deserved break.
A remaining billiard table from the old days adds a nice bit of variety and fun.

Prices: €14 online / €16 on-site
Reduced: €11.50 online / €13 on-site
Rental shoes: €5

15:00 – 17:00: Optional dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Depending on how everyone feels, we’ll pick a nice place nearby to grab some food together and dive into deeper conversations.

How to get there

By public transport:
From Düsseldorf Central Station, take a regional train (RE) or the S1 towards Essen (about 30–40 minutes).
From Essen Central Station, continue with S1, S3 or S9 to Essen West. From there it’s just a 7-minute walk to the gym.

By car:
There are parking spaces directly behind the gym, accessible via the driveway between the Fiat car dealership and the construction supply store.
If those are full, you can park at the Krupp Park parking lot (Haedenkampstr. 79), just a few minutes’ walk away.
Tip: Arriving early pays off – parking spots can fill up quickly!

Equipment:

Comfortable sportswear, bouldering shoes (available for rent on-site), climbing chalk, and a good mood 😁

I’m really looking forward to the event, meeting you all, and seeing some familiar faces again!

Warm regards,
Paul ✌️
