First G2G - Let's get started

We're pleased to announce that the speakers for our first Geek2Geek meetup are Christoph Beckmann from KaufDA (http://www.kaufda.de/) and Tobias Balling from BLINKIST (http://www.blinkist.com/de/). This time we will focus on "IT infrastructure for DevOps".

Christoph Beckmann
Christoph is team lead at KaufDA. He's developing preferably with the Grails framework and is a DevOp expert. Over the past 2 1/2 years he has helped build the international KaufDA IT team. Previously, he gained experience at a consulting firm in Cologne and founded Germany's first toilet search engine. Christoph will show how KaufDA manages its infrastructure with puppet in 5 countries.

Tobias Balling
One year ago Tobias cofounded Blinkist and took the IT responsibility as CTO. Before Blinkist, Tobias studied Information Systems, worked for bigger companies as a software developer and cofounded an eLearning platform.
Tobias will show how the Blinkist-IT-Infrastructure has grown and changed within the last year. He'll explain how he started using dedicated servers with puppet, developing Java Spring and how he switched to Ruby and Grape and moving everything to cloud services after having some trouble with downtime and scaling. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/images/cleardot.gif
