Dr. Thomas Kisler – The Green Software Development Manifesto
Abstract:
To tackle the climate crisis, a transformation is needed in all areas of our lives – including software development. A group of people, agreeing that we as software developers can have a tremendous impact, came together to define some guiding principles enabling a greener software development process. This talk will give a short overview of what happened, where we are right now and how we want to proceed in the future.
Bio:
I am a Data Scientist and Software Developer at MaibornWolff GmbH, where I started after finishing my PhD at the intersection between machine learning and dialectology. Since last year I am responsible for a small unit that is looking for ways software can support the necessary ecological transformation. In my spare time I am also very active regarding the fight against the climate crisis, e.g. by being an active member of the Scientists for Future in Munich.
Ralf Richter – The development of the Green Manifesto Website
Abstract:
To follow our own guidelines, we were looking to be green with our website too. We will share our experience and how we achieved this goal, how it's measured and what technologies are used.
