Comparing the Viable System Model and the Galbraith Star Model

The value of an organization model is to create a (maybe partly graphical) language for a common understanding of said organization.

Depending on the model, it brings specific thinking into the discourse and may suggest certain actions.

In this session, we will look into two models: the Viable System Model of Stafford Beer, which is deeply rooted in system theory / cybernetics and Galbraith's Star Model which has a more traditional background.

As outcome we want some insights into the value of organization models in general and of the two models in more detail.

Agenda
1. Introduction into the Galbraith Star Model
2. Introduction into the Viable System Model
3. Discussion of respective value and the potential impact of using
4. Wrapup, outlook and open questions for other Meetup sessions
