Walking the Heidschnuckenweg:
Part 4 ca. 24 km 4 km/h
Undeloh to Schneverdingen

  • YES by popular request we start later this week (and I like a real breakfast).
  • YES we will be back late due to the distance, group's walking speed and need for breaks.
  • CAN WE BE BACK SOONER? if only runners turn up and EVERYONE agrees to fastrack at 6km/h and skips breaks, but only if everyone wants that.

The fourth stage of the Heidschnuckenweg, just one of Germany’s beautiful hiking trails!

As the days grow longer, we will extend southwards to walk the ever distant sections of this trail, from the gates of Hamburg all the way to Celle.

  • The Route: Undeloh to Schneverdingen
  • Meeting Point: Hamburg Hbf, Platform 13B ideally under the "B".
[Look for me with an orange hiking bag.]
  • Meeting Time: from 10:00 am and directly boarding 10:10 (meaning arrive before!)
  • Transport: We take the RE4 to Tostedt and Bus 4000 to Undeloh, arriving at 11:30 am.
EDIT: Yes you can meet us at Tostedt 10:47 am, but do let me know in advance.
  • Return: takes around 1h05m to Hamburg and is possible once per hour (so be prepared to wait)
  • BREAKS we came to walk but want to rest. It is planned to have two short breaks 10 mins for a snack and a drink.

Note: you are responsible for your own transport, now extending outside of the HVV service area. Those without a Deutschland-Ticket take notice.

The terrain and longer distance make this an moderate walk, on easy terrain, sand and gravel path, expect mud after the rain, with a walking speed of around 4 km / h.

Recommended: Sturdy walking shoes and something warm to drink!

Please bring clothing suitable to the conditions, your own snacks, water/ warm drink, and of course, some coins for the toilet! (if available).

We're looking forward to meeting you 😀

Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will get banned from the group.
