A Five-Week Yoga Series Around Philosophical Questions - “The Mind”
Details
Week 1: The Mind
Where does the mind begin, and where does it end? What’s the difference between mind and intellect?
In this five-week yoga series, we explore the relationship between philosophy and yoga. Drawing from both Western and Eastern philosophical traditions, we bring philosophical questions into dialogue with traditional yoga practices - not to find answers, but to open a shared space for reflection and experience.
In the second session of our series, we’ll explore how the concept of the mind is approached in both Western and Eastern philosophy.
When the topic is the mind, everyone seems to have something to say — opinions, definitions, assumptions. We’ll begin our gathering with a small, playful exercise to experience these ideas directly. From there, we’ll look at a few examples from Western and Eastern philosophical traditions, not in a heavy or academic way, but as invitations to reflect.
To close, we’ll move into a short yoga flow designed to prepare the body for meditation, followed by a guided meditation to settle everything we’ve explored — in the body, the breath, and the mind.
