Acting for Improvisers - Don’t forget: Improvisation is Theatre.

Price: 150€ per person for 6 Sessions incl. certificate.
Trainer: Léa Torloting

When I started improvising, I often felt frustrated. Everything was happening so fast: thinking, listening, building the story. I was doing improv — but I wasn’t always acting.
What I later realised is that improvisation doesn’t replace acting. It needs it. Acting is what allows you to captivate yourself first — and then the audience.”

This workshop was created to help improvisers connect or reconnect with acting and integrate solid acting foundations into their improvisation practice.

Concept & structure
This is a 6-session workshop, designed as a progressive journey.
Sessions take place one Thursday per month, and registration is for the full cycle of six sessions, as each session builds on the previous one. The goal is to support your development step by step, over time.
By the end of the workshop, you will leave with clear acting tools you can directly implement in your improvisations, helping you move from “improviser” to fully grounded actor on stage.

What you will work on
Throughout the sessions, you will explore acting through three main lenses:
1. Stage Dynamics

  • Using stage rules in a way that feels natural and believable for the audience
  • Understanding space, movement, scenic composition, staging and blocking
  • Creating scenes that are clear, alive and engaging

2. Stage presence

  • Anchoring and physical presence
  • Voice and breath
  • Discovering your natural stage personality
  • Building from who you are before adding layers of character

3. Emotions & character work

  • Emotional truth and intensity
  • Character work rooted in authenticity
  • Transposing real-life experiences into theatrical play
  • How to engage the audience with your acting

Approach & methodology
Sessions aim to help you first feel yourself on stage, have fun, and understand how your own personality already contains strong acting material. From there, we gradually add layers: character, emotions, intensity, and intention.
You will work with concrete acting tools inspired by Stanislavski, Chekhov, biodynamic approaches etc.
Throughout the workshop, we will constantly and simultaneously work on:

  • Your relationship to yourself
  • Your relationship to other actors
  • Your relationship to the audience

A safe, supportive learning space
This workshop is rooted in benevolence and trust. The aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore vulnerability, take risks, and push beyond your comfort zone — while staying grounded and supported.
A strong feedback culture is central to the workshop. You will receive extensive, constructive feedback throughout the sessions, as well as concrete tools to improve your acting based on your individual strengths and areas for development.
Even within a group structure, the goal is to offer personalised guidance. Group size will be kept intentionally limited to allow each participant to grow and shine.

The ultimate goal
To discover how good acting can be liberating.
To dig deeper, embrace vulnerability, and find the way you shine on stage — not by adding more tricks, but by becoming more truthful, present, and fully alive in your improvisation.

Every 3rd Thursday of each month will be training from 7 to 9:30pm!
